What is a Blog?

A standard definition:

• A frequently updated web site consisting of personal observations, excerpts from other sources, etc., typically run by a single person, and usually with hyperlinks to other sites; an online journal or diary. (Oxford English Dictionary Online, 2007)
  

A more accurate definition:

• a user-generated website where entries are made in journal* style and displayed in a reverse chronological order (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog - Feb. 6, 2007)
  *"journal" refers to diaries, official records, and to periodical publications, according to Wikipedia's entry for the term
